Tattoo Studios Near Cranbourne, Berwick and Narre Warren
If you're in Berwick, Narre Warren, Hampton Park, Lynbrook, Hallam or anywhere across the eastern side of Casey, the good news is you're a short drive from a full multi-artist studio in Cranbourne West. Here's what that actually means, and why it matters.
The tattoo studio landscape in Casey
Across Casey and the south east suburbs, there's a range of studios. Single-artist home setups, small shopfronts with one or two artists, and full multi-artist studios. Each has its place depending on what you're getting done.
For simple flash pieces or one-offs, a smaller local setup can be fine. For anything larger, custom, or that needs a specific style, a full studio gives you a proper choice of artists.
Sam Ink sits in that last group. Six tattoo artists, each specialising in a different style, plus laser removal and piercing on site. Based in Cranbourne West, about 10 to 20 minutes from most of the eastern Casey suburbs.
From Berwick
Berwick to Cranbourne West is roughly 15 to 20 minutes down the Princes Highway or via South Gippsland Highway depending on the route. Easier outside peak hour.
From Narre Warren
Narre Warren to Cranbourne West is around 15 minutes via the South Gippsland Freeway. Parking on site.
From Hampton Park, Lynbrook and Hallam
All within a 10 to 15 minute drive of Cranbourne West. Straightforward run along Thompsons Road or through Lynbrook.
Why the short trip is worth it
The reason people happily drive 15 minutes to a good studio rather than 5 minutes to an average one comes down to choice of artist.
At a single-artist shop, you get one style. If that style suits your idea, great. If it doesn't, you're either compromising on the design or driving anyway.
At Sam Ink, the artists specialise:
- Sam for large scale realism, black and grey portraits, animals
- Ram for realism and fine line floral, sleeves and large projects
- Troy for realism, traditional and neo trad, cover ups and rework
- Teejay for colour realism, blackwork, neo trad, fine line and anime
- Aaron for black and grey realism and custom lettering
- Yaz for flash and small pieces as an apprentice
Whatever style you're after, there's an artist whose portfolio backs it up.
What to expect on the visit
Free consult first for anything custom. You bring your idea, references and rough placement. Your artist gives you an honest read on what's realistic, size and time estimates, and a quote. You leave with a plan and a booking date, no pressure.
For flash pieces or smaller work, walk-ins are sometimes possible but always safer to book ahead. Weekends fill up.
The other services on site
Because Sam Ink runs tattooing, barbering, laser removal and piercing under one roof, a lot of clients end up combining visits. Common examples:
- A haircut in the same visit as your tattoo consult
- Laser sessions for a fade coordinated with the tattoo artist doing the cover up
- Piercing added to a partner's tattoo appointment
Saves multiple trips across town.

On-site parking. Easy access from the South Gippsland Freeway, Princes Highway or Thompsons Road depending on which direction you're coming from. Public transport via Cranbourne station is a short trip if you're not driving.
